The U.S. Institute of Building Documentation (USIBD) is the first U.S. organization to focus solely on supporting the Building Documentation Industry. The USIBD is committed to advancing the interests of ALL stakeholder groups with an interest in Building Documentation. As such, the USIBD strives to provide its members with a network of support and information, comprised of industry professionals throughout the U.S. and Internationally. There are two types of membership: Individual and Group.

Many published resources of USIBD are available via the USIBD website (www.usibd.org). Others are available only, or at reduced prices, to members. Beyond access to member-only resources, members also benefit from networking with their peers, many of whom are experienced leaders in various facets of documenting buildings. Networking benefits include sharing practical insights about the latest technologies, cooperating on projects, out-sourcing, project referrals, and more. If you want to get directly involved with industry leaders in documenting buildings, this is the organization to join.
Who Should Join?
Implementing advanced technologies for documenting buildings – from project bidding, specification and execution – often crosses the boundaries of multiple professions. These include architects, engineers, contractors, designers, laser scanning service providers, surveyors, existing conditions service providers, historic preservationists, CAD/BIM specialists, VDC specialists, owners and developers, operators, Facility Managers, space planners and accountants, leasing agents, and hardware & software vendors. USIBD enables these specialists to directly interact with others who share the same specialty and with those who have complementary expertise.
Individual Membership
Individuals may now join the USIBD for FREE! While free membership doesn’t give you access to all the rich benefits of a paid membership, free members receive benefits that the general public does not. Benefits include a complimentary copy of the USIBD newsletter, access to the calendar, as well as access to and being listed on the membership directory. Paid Members receive access to much more!
Individual Membership Dues: Annual dues are only $200.00/person and renew each year on the date of your USIBD membership anniversary.
Group Membership
If you are part of a company or organization looking to sign up multiple individuals as USIBD members, then a Group Membership can save you a lot of money. Group Memberships are open to any company or organization worldwide. The benefits for Individual and Group Memberships are the same. A Group Membership consists of three or more Individual Memberships. Any additional members added beyond the three required to form a Group receive a 50% discount.
Group Membership Dues: Annual dues are only $550.00/group and renew each year on the date of your USIBD membership anniversary. Groups may make changes to their group roster at any time, but a Group must always maintain a minimum of three individual members.
